L 'Ancienne Écurie
du Château Lézian
Gîte de charme pour 8/10 personnes

ABOUT
Once hosting nobles and clergy in the 16th and 17th centuries, with visits from the family of Henri of Navarre, the then future King of France, Château Lézian and L'Ancienne Écurie are steeped in history, firmly ensconced within their ancient walls to this day.
The château is on the outskirts of a lovely Gascon village, Castelnau-Rivière-Basse, situated off a quiet country lane at the end of its long secluded drive. It is set among the renowned Madiran vineyards, one of the closest being that of Château Montus, and its "cave" with magnificent interior.
It provides the perfect base to enjoy Marciac Jazz festival, Tempo Latino festival at Vic Fezensac or Saint Mont and Madiran wine festivals among others. Ideally situated to take in a wine tour at one of the nearby stunning châteaux. Lourdes and Pau are within an hour away. San Sebastian, St Jean de Luz, Biarritz, Bordeaux, Toulouse and choice of ski stations or hill walking in the Pyrénées are within a two hour drive. There are plenty of nearby attractions and activities.

ACCOMMODATION
L'Ancienne Écurie has been decorated to echo its historic setting, blending modern comfort with period style to create a fresh and traditional feel throughout. We have paid careful attention to the finishing touches, such as beautiful crisp white bedlinen, a choice of pillow thickness and generous soft towels.
FACILITIES
Our pool and terrace will entice you to while away the hours in absolute relaxation. Soak up the sun on one of the fully reclining loungers or enjoy a swim in the heated pool. After dusk the pool house can offer a unique outdoor cinema experience where you can settle down with drinks to watch a movie of your choice.
There is plenty of outdoor recreational space available for playing games, including table tennis, badminton, pétanque, football, swing ball and archery.
L'Ancienne Écurie and château hold a dominant position among their own ten hectares of gardens and pasture, enjoying views of the village in the distance and the Pyrénées. The land is further surrounded by neighbouring pasture and vineyards, giving a real sense of immersion in nature. Our own horses and ponies graze in the adjoining fields. The mature landscaped gardens are an exotic blend of palm, bamboo, olive, fruit and nut trees.
There is excellent wi-fi connection, throughout the interior as well as the dedicated outdoor zones. The living room TV and the outdoor cinema are both linked to wi-fi, enabling a large choice of media streaming options.
We have a good selection of bicycles for guests' use to explore the beautiful surrounding landscape.
